I’m not usually a morning person, but I make an exception when holidays are involved! The wife and I had booked two weeks in Mauritius, with the obligatory 6am flight out from Luton Airport. We could have booked a room at one of the many hotels spanning Airport Way, but decided against it, due to it not really giving us much of an advantage on the impending morning flight. Hitchin is one of my favourite towns to go shopping in. It’s not too big yet not too small, and has a great selection of both chain and independent retail stores, as well as plenty of places to eat and drink. It’s also one of the more picturesque towns in the area, having retained its original cobbled market square and many period buildings. Continue reading
